Bronaczowa Forest - Kozie Kąty Reserve

32-050 Radziszów
The Bronaczowa Forest is a dense woodland area, the largest in the vicinity of Kraków, a relic of the once vast Carpathian forest. The total area of the forest covers around 800 ha, including a hilly area on the border of Radziszów, Mogilany and Głogoczów. Nearly a half of the forest (370 ha) lies within the boundaries of Radziszów, including many ravines and gorges, with streams flowing constantly or periodically at their bottom. One can see here unique specimen of butterflies, amphibians, reptiles, wild birds and larger animals, such as roe deer.
The Kozie Kąty reserve covers part of the Bronaczowa Forest, having a botanic content the most similar to the natural woodland area which once covered Pogórze Wielickie. The reserve has many species of trees and rich forest floor. It has around forty species of vascular plants, typical of an upland mixed forest: fern, bilberry, common wood sorrel, May lily and other plant species.
