The Prehistoric Settlement in Wola Radziszowska, belonging to the AGH University of Science Technology in Kraków, is a reconstruction of a hypothetical village some 3000 years ago. The settlement was built by Kraków students using tools modelled after tools people used in the Bronze Age.
The ancient village was built using bronze axes and knives, flint sickles and saws, and tools made from bone, horn and wood. Construction materials were typical of that era (tree trunks, pliant branches, bast, clay, wicker and turf). No modern-day material (nails, wire or plastic foil) was used to join construction elements.
In the settlement you can visit dwelling houses, a metallurgical workshop, potter’s workshop a sauna and the ”prehistoric classroom”, where history lessons and workshops from the series ”How did people live 3000 years ago?” are organised. You can also make a head-through hole photo and take it as a souvenir! The settlement is situated in a picturesque valley in the Wola’s woods. A perfect place for some leisure time with family and friends.
